Runners, get your sneaks ready! Registration just opened for the Back on my Feet 20in24 Relay Challenge!
On July 16th and 17th, Back on my Feet, a nonprofit organization, will be hosting their 4th Annual 20in24 Relay Challenge in Philadelphia, PA. This is Philadelphia’s only 24 hour race.
The race was designed to challenge teams of men and women to complete 20 loops (168 miles) in 24 hours around the Schuylkill River. Many times, runners do not sign up with a team; they just run individually. Prizes include $3,000 o to the top male and female who accomplish the most miles in the 24-hour time period with a $1,000 bonus for breaking the course record (146.75 miles for males and 125.18 for women). $1,500 will go to the second place male and female and $500 to the third place male and female.
Though very competitive, people have lots of fun participating in this race. It may sometimes get really intense. Views and supporters bring their camping gear and supplies to set up along the Schuylkill River to cheer on the runners. All money and donations go to the Back on my Feet organization to help the homeless in the Philadelphia area. Check out the website to see more information about the organization and how you can get involved at http://www.20in24.com/race-info.html.
