Stand up for those that stood up for us,”

is the motto that Mike Simpson and Will Rich plan to follow as they stand-up paddleboard from Florida to Maine beginning March 1, 2011. The goals: to paddle in honor of wounded soldiers and to gain as much support from local followers as they can on a small budget, but a big sense of direction.

They’re joining forces with The Wounded Warrior Project in hopes of making a difference in the lives of those who sacrificed so much for the well-being of our country. The other foundation involved is SUP Clean-up, a worldwide organization based in North Carolina that educate the public about our marine eco-systems. Raising money and awareness are two key priorities for Mike and Will, and they’re doing it in an extreme way. They will be covering ocean miles, but if inclement weather gets in the way, they will travel up through the Inter-coastal Waterway.

Their determination and experience in extreme and recreational water sports will push them along as they embark on this journey. Follow them on their blog and track their progress in supporting two life-changing causes. Can they do it? Find out for yourself.
